Nissan Introduces All-New, Zero-Compromise Hybrid System

There are automakers that do hybrid technology; and there are those that do it right. Nissan may not be the first to add hybrid accoutrements to their vehicle lineup. But by taking their insights as a pioneer in the realm of EVs, they're perhaps the first to do it justice.
What differentiates satisfactory hybrid technology from exemplary hybrid technology? Simply stated, the ability to retain the performance of petrol-powered counterparts and exceed expectations for fuel economy. On November 29, Nissan revealed its latest in-house hybrid design. And, Gates Nissan of Frankfort is pleased to say, it meets both criteria.
The new Nissan-built hybrid system might seem rudimentary at first glance. It's comprised of a downsized 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine and compact lithium-ion battery. No real surprises there. Downsized engines are trending across the entire industry and li-ion batteries are pretty standard fare when it comes to hybrid systems these days. But, the truth is, there's nothing average about it.
Topping off the understated foundation of the new Nissan hybrid technology is a twin-screw supercharger! So while the system, equipped with Nissan's all-new continuously variable transmission technology, promises up to a 10-percent jump in fuel economy; it can also deliver power on par with the Japanese automaker's current 3.5-liter V6 engine. That's 260 wild ponies of power and 250 tenacious lb.-ft of torque!
Compromise? The word doesn't even exist in Nissan's vernacular. Stay tuned to learn which new Nissan model will feature the exciting hybrid system first, second, third, fourth, fifth, so on and so forth, until it permeates the entire lineup, which Nissan indicates it will.
