Nissan LEAF Entering the Rental Market

Like most people today, if you are interesting in reducing your carbon print, you have heard about the Nissan LEAF. However, as much as the LEAF has been advertised all around, it's not available everywhere yet. Even if drivers from across the U.S. can order the LEAF, the EV is currently being sold in only in 28 states, plus Washington, D.C. This makes test driving a LEAF more challenging for those not living in these specific areas.

If you are interested to try a Leaf and are not living in these regions, you can take comfort in the fact that this limbo status is not exclusive to the U.S. Europe is experiencing the same thing. And perhaps more important, Nissan is doing something about it.

Nissan has entered into a new partnership with Europcar in attempt to remove the barriers keeping the LEAF away from completely saturating the global market (i.e. limited access and consumer perceptions). The main goal of the alliance is for Europcar, a known leader in car rental services, to help bring the LEAF to a wider audience via daily rentals in urban areas.

Another benefit of this partnership will also provide Nissan with valuable feedback from renters. This feedback, garnered from follow-up surveys, will help inform Nissan of the direction to follow in designing next-gen electric vehicles.

Now, the question is will Nissan bring a similar program on this side of Atlantic Ocean? Gates Nissan of Frankfort located at 1220 Versailles Road, Frankfort, KY, 40601 doesn't know for sure at this time, but we're hoping. And we promise to inform you as soon as we find out.
