Nissan North America popularity proved exceedingly strong in 2011. And, January sales numbers indicate the upward trend is continuing in 2012. Compared to January 2011, January 2012 sales rose a healthy 10.4 percent. Overall Nissan Division sales increased by 12.5 percent.
While Gates Nissan of Frankfort, serving drivers from Lexington has to credit the entire new Nissan lineup for these successes, we can't ignore the fact that two models shined particularly bright: the 2012 Nissan Rogue and 2012 Nissan Versa.
Demand for the Nissan Rogue and the Versa skyrocketed this January with sales reaching 9,904 units and 9,418 units respectively. From a year-over-year perspective these numbers represent a laudable 5.1-percent surge for the Rogue and robust 8.5-percent increase for the Versa.
What about the Nissan Altima? We're happy you asked. The auto industry's second best-selling passenger vehicle performed wildly well, too with sales rising nearly 36 percent in January.
There really wasn't one segment that didn't demonstrate consumers' infatuation with the Nissan brand. Take pickups, for example. While they're not necessarily hot sellers across the entire industry right now; Nissan truck sales rose almost 22 percent over January 2011.
